Dr Broyd is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with expertise in diagnostic assessment, neurorehabilitation and support for patients with wide-ranging neuropsychological presentations and their families. She gained a distinction for the post-doctoral Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) and is on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SCRN). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Experimental Psychology (University of Bristol), a Masters degree with distinction in Mental Health (the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience, King’s College London), a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (University of East London), and a Masters degree with distinction in Clinical Neuropsychology (University of Bristol).

 

Dr Broyd has worked across inpatient, outpatient and community settings both within the NHS and in the private sector. She is passionate about working with people with neurological conditions and their families, ensuring that approaches are compassionate, holistic, meaningful, person-centered and values-driven. She draws on an eclectic range of evidence-based modalities, including systemic, narrative, positive psychology, mindfulness-based, compassion-focused and acceptance and commitment therapy approaches.

 

Dr Broyd has led the development and implementation of a clinic for contact sport athletes with concussion and brain injuries. She has also developed multi-disciplinary long-covid assessment and intervention clinics. She helped develop the encephalitis pathway and provided neuropsychological expertise in the multi-disciplinary Brain Injury Clinic at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square.

 

Dr Broyd enjoys carrying out clinical academic research and has published peer-reviewed papers in fields including cognition, decision making, wellbeing, multiple sclerosis, psychosis, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She has undertaken further expert witness and medicolegal training through Bond Solon and provides high-quality expert reports in civil cases, particularly in the areas of brain injury and psychological distress.
